Cape Cod Cottage Rentals If you are planning to stay at Cape Cod for a vacation, perhaps over the summer, then you may be interested in staying in one of the Cape Cod cottage rentals that are available in the area - the closer you get to the beach, the better! You will truly enjoy spending time on the Cape, because there is just so much that you will be able to do and so much fun and relaxation time you will get from being on vacation and being able to smell the fresh sea air. While you're there, you should definitely make an effort to spend a few hours or even the whole day fishing on one of the jetties. If you own a fishing rod, then don't forget to bring it along on your vacation, and if you don't have a fishing rod of your own, then you can probably hire one from one of the fishing stores in the area (there are many, so don't worry). You can always ask one of the locals to point you in the right direction towards a fishing and tackle shop that hires rods if you are unsure of where to find one. The Cape Cod Cottage rentals are all relatively near to the jetties and especially if you ask your rental agent to get you one close to the beach, then that would be the best for fishing and evening strolls along the sand. You can pack a picnic and enjoy it with your friends, loved one or family on the beach and watch the sun setting, or for a real adventure, you can go and enjoy your picnic below the Lighthouse on Lighthouse Beach in Chatham, where you will have the glow of the light to illuminate the beach and create a nice romantic ambience. You could also take a tour of the marine research being undertaken at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, or enjoy a free seminar on the type of research that they are busy with - this is also great for children, as it gives them a bit of educational fun to keep their young minds stimulated during the school holidays. If you are staying at one of the Cape Cod cottage rentals near to Pairpoint in the little town of Sandwich, then you are in for a treat! You can go and watch the talented artists as the make magical creations out of glass - you will be able to watch the entire process of their creation, as they blow the glass themselves and make magnificent vases and lamps and other beautiful pieces, which you will also be able to purchase if you are so inclined - but one thing is for sure - it truly is a remarkable sight. If you feel like a bit of physical activity, then you should take a climb up the tower in Dennis, known as Scargo Tower - don't worry, all these little towns are relatively close together, huddled on the Cape so you won't be driving too far to have a look at the different sights. This tower is about thirty feet high and you will be able to see very far along the Cape from the top - making for a wonderful photo opportunity. |
