The Highland House Museum occupies one of Truro’s best known landmarks, the old Highland House, a hotel built on the Highlands in 1907. Located near the Highland Light in North Truro, it is a classic example of a turn-of-the-century summer resort hotel. A visit to the museum provides fascinating insight into the lives of the people of Truro dating back to early European settlers and the Native Americans that preceded them. Highland Lighthouse 27 Highland Light Road 508-487-3397 North Truro Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. Located near Highland House Museum. In July 1996, it was jacked up and moved back from the eroding cliff to save it from falling into the ocean. Features an Interpretive Center, 10-minute video, opportunity to climb lighthouse tower ($4), and observation deck. Admission $6, Students and seniors $5, free ages 12 and under. $1 off with ticket to Highland House Museum
